Cranleigh Reserves left it late but showed tremendous determination to edge through in the County Cup, winning 4–3 on penalties after a dramatic 1–1 draw.
The Cranes found themselves 1–0 down early on and spent much of the match chasing the game. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, they just couldn’t find a way through until the very last minute, when Jack Miller held his nerve to slot home a stoppage-time penalty and take the tie to a shootout.
In the ensuing penalties, Cranleigh kept their cool, converting four of their spot-kicks to seal a hard-earned 4–3 victoryand a place in the next round.
Manager and supporters alike praised the side’s perseverance and team spirit, with Perry Stuart named Man of the Match for an outstanding display throughout the game.
