Our first Cup tie of the season was a closely fought contested which became even more so after we went down to 10 men after unfortunately losing Ben B. We created a few chances with Will D hitting the crossbar with a great curling effort from outside of box – Coutinho like – and then hit the post from a surging run and shot in 2nd half.
We also survived a scare when they hit the crossbar in 2nd half but the game ended 0-0. Extra time was not enough to separate the two teams so it went to the dreaded penalties
First time we’ve experienced the new penalty format of ABBAABBAA with the side going second taking 2 in a row. Didn’t do us any favours as we missed the first 2 and went out 4-1 on pens.
