Man of the Match – Jack Westerman

Saturdays match was a repeat of the semi final from last season with Cranleigh hoping for the same result.

Cranleigh started very brightly from the start and were on the attack from kick off. Great play switching the ball from left to right let in Sullivan Howick who delivered a perfect cross that the defender under pressure turned into his own net. Sullivan was a constant thorn in the Billingshurst defence all match with great crossing . The 2nd goal was scored by Toby Davies with great persistence and power from one so small beating 2 defenders in the box to prod home. Deon Mumbiwa came on as sub and scored the third with a great run and finish

Such was the Cranleigh dominance that our keeper touched the ball once in the first half.

The second half was much the samee. The highlight of the half was a defence splitting ball from Isaac Holt which wouldn’t of looked out of place on Match of the day. Ethan Payne collected the ball on the edge of the area to score with a great first time strike . Another goal for Ethan followed with a great run beating the keeper at the near post .

Two goals for Ethan making him our top scorer and costing me a fortune .Subs bench this week as I can’t afford his goal bonus.

A great result with a clean sheet due to exceptional defending from Jack Westerman whos pace and intelligent use of the ball was beyond compare.
