Cranleigh Women put in a determined display in their penultimate league game of the season but fell to a narrow 0–2 home defeat against South Park Reigate in a competitive, end-to-end contest at Glebelands.

Goalkeeper Laura made a string of excellent early saves to keep the scores level and spirits high. On a rare sunny afternoon — a welcome change from the usual 40mph winds and freezing rain — the Cranes adapted well to the conditions and created several dangerous chances in the first half.

South Park took a 1–0 lead into the break, but Cranleigh remained a threat. Tia produced a superb solo run and cross, Caroline fired a strong effort goalward, and only a fingertip save from the South Park keeper denied the equaliser.

Despite further pressure in the second half, Cranleigh couldn’t find the breakthrough and South Park added a second to seal the result.

Across the three fixtures between the two sides this season, Cranleigh edged one win but South Park claimed two, with a tight 7–5 goal tally across those games reflecting the fine margins of this season.

Cranleigh now look ahead to their final match of the season on Sunday 4 May, at home to league leaders Oxted & District Ladies. Kick-off is at 2.00pm at Glebelands.
