Cranleigh Football Club was founded in 1893 — 133 years ago — but its youth football journey began much later, in 1976, with the launch of the Cranleigh Comets.

In 2026, Cranleigh FC proudly marks 50 years of youth football in Cranleigh. The Cranleigh Comets were formed in 1976 by a former Cranleigh Lions President and the current Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Rowleys. What began as a small youth initiative has grown into a thriving programme that has supported generations of young players in the village and surrounding area.

To mark this milestone, the club is planning a special celebration as part of its End of Season Event on Saturday 16 May 2026. We are aiming to reunite some of the original Cranleigh Comets players for an exhibition match against the current Cranleigh Over 45s — a fitting way to connect past and present and celebrate five decades of youth football.

We hope to welcome as many current and former players, families, and supporters as possible to share in this momentous achievement.

End of season celebration – 16 May 2026

The End of Season Celebration will take place at Glebelands School, Cranleigh, bringing together players, families and the wider local community to celebrate another successful season for the club — and a very special anniversary.

With over 650 registered players at Cranleigh FC, and an even larger number of family members, friends and community supporters expected to attend, the event promises to be a vibrant, well-attended celebration of grassroots football in Cranleigh.

Supporting the event: raffle prize donations

As part of the festivities, we will be holding a raffle and are inviting local businesses to support the event by donating raffle prizes.

Donations of all shapes and sizes are very welcome. In return, businesses will receive prominent recognition throughout the event, including:

  • visibility at the event itself

  • inclusion in promotional materials

  • mentions across Cranleigh FC social media platforms

It’s a great opportunity to showcase your support for local youth sport while gaining exposure within the Cranleigh community.

Please express your interest to events@cranleighfc.co.uk. We would be happy to arrange collection of your donation or provide further details on how you can get involved.

Thank you for supporting Cranleigh Football Club. We truly appreciate the generosity of our local community and look forward to celebrating this special milestone together.
