Surrey Primary League – First Home Match of the Season
Cranleigh County kicked off their first home game of the season with an emphatic performance, dominating from the first whistle. The team settled quickly and took control of the midfield, with an early goal setting the tone for what would become a commanding display. Clever passing and intelligent runs from the forwards kept Windlesham under constant pressure.
By half-time, Cranleigh led 3–1, already showing the teamwork and attacking fluidity they had been honing in training.
The second half saw Windlesham attempt to bypass Cranleigh’s midfield with long balls, but the home defence handled the challenge calmly, recycling possession and launching new attacks. Cranleigh completely controlled the match, finishing with a resounding 12–3 victory.
Three players celebrated hat-tricks: Rory Wheeler with four goals, Alex Marcus and Jenson Batchelor with three each. Miles Rogers and Barney Wilson also added to the tally with one goal apiece.
Manager Will Batchelor was delighted with the performance, praising the team for executing the tactics they had worked on in training and rewarding the fans with an exciting display of attacking football.
Batchelor said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the team today. They showed real discipline, kept to the game plan, and played some fantastic football. What pleased me most was how they implemented everything we’ve been working on in training, the passing, the movement, the composure. To score 12 goals and have three hat-tricks in one game is special, but it was the team performance that really stood out.”
