The U15’s kicked off their campaign with a tough one, away to East Grinstead Town. The two teams were neck and neck last season, with Cranleigh ultimately taking the Division 2 title by a solitary point.
Despite a promising start, the visitors went behind after a well worked break from the home team left goalkeeper Dan Laws exposed.
Despite a less than ideal playing surface, Cranleigh persevered with a high tempo passing game and were finally rewarded after 25 minutes with an equaliser courtesy of the pacy Ryan Taiani.
A spectacular long range effort from Taiani minutes later and a penalty from the ever dangerous Camron Lawson saw Cranleigh’s dominance rewarded.
The second half was hard fought and although Cranleigh squandered a number of good chances, further goals from debutants Isaac Collins and Archie Freeth, sealed an impressive start to the 2017/18 season.
