Losing a football match isn’t as much fun as winning a game but it can sometimes still feel good

Todays match was a 9v9 format except it wasn’t! Due to an extended injury and illness list for the second week in succession we played with one player short

8v9 in Guildford Saints favour to which we can add a further 4 subs for the Saints who they could roll on and off as their players tired

First half saw us go a goal behind and heads could have dropped, but not with this bunch. All our preseason fitness and conditioning paid off and the 8 players looked like they had the extra team mate for large portions of the game

0-1 down quickly became 2-1 up, then 2-2 and Cranes fell behind to 3-2 at half time. But these women never give up and equalised once again 3-3

Eventually superior numbers paid off and we conceded 2 goals to finish 3-5

A classic match of what might have been

Well done Leanne, “Westie” (making her debut in senior football) , “Badger”, Zoe, Nat, Charlotte, Caroline, and Alice

Goal scorers Caroline 2 Nat 1
