History made at the club as we played our first match in the Surrey FA Women’s League Tier 7 of the England Women’s Pyramid.

Old Tiffinians showed their experience at this level by scoring 3 unanswered goals in the first half. Some teams would have caved under the pressure but not Cranleigh. We are team with the right kind of team spirit. Teams do well when they are winning its when the pressure is on that true team spirit comes to the forefront. Players continued to scrap for every ball, support their team-mates when under pressure and gradually the tide began to turn. As the half moved on more and more of it was spent in the opponent’s half of the pitch.

The adage it was a game of two halves was never truer! Cranleigh got a goal back and the tide turned. A second goal and it was “game-on”. The pressure paid off and a third goal gave the supportive crowd of supporters exactly what they deserved, a well-earned point in our first ever Surrey Women’s League match.

I’m not going to single out any player because this was the epitome of a team effort.

Well done Claire, Emily, Kelly, Maddie,  Mollie, Fi, Louise, Leila, Soph, Katie, Karen, Libby, and Faye.

Next match away to Guildford Saints Sunday 25th September
