Despite the overnight snow the pitch was  in pretty good condition for the visit of Broadbridge Heath. With no Alastair Hill , Dylan Bishop filled in at center half for his first game in that position. Right from the kickoff Cranleigh were on top. A great early chance for Jack Westerman was narrowly wide of the post. With 5 minutes gone a great shot by Sullivan Howick from outside the box cannoned off the crossbar. Another chance from a through ball saw Jack Westerman 1v1 with the keeper who came out to save . Midway through the first half Sullivan Howick scored direct from a corner to put us 1-0 up .
Cranleigh were always pressing forward and a freekick by Charlie Gibson came close to another score.
The half finished 1-0 to Cranleigh but we really deserved more as Broadbridge Heath had been under immense pressure. Second half started in much the save way with good chances falling to Isaac Holt and Ethan Payne. After an hours play our keeper hadent had a shot to save as most of the game was played in their half. It was becoming very frustrating as despite all the play we couldnt get a second goal. We were going to need a touch of magic to break down a stubborn Broadbridge Heath defence. Harry Dancaster who was again having a fantastic game in defence collected the ball in our half .
With no one challenging him Harry ran towards goal beating 3 players before rolling a pass to Charlie Gibson on the edge of the area. Charlie took a touch to take him past a player and drilled the ball in the top corner 2-0. Just rewards to the Cranleigh team . Ethan Payne almost added a 3rd as he beat a player and shot towards goal only to see the ball squirm under their keeper who managed to stop it on the goal line . A rare break by Broadbrige Heath saw them score late on to make it 2-1 and a very nervy finish . Broadbridge Heath tried desperately to score an equaliser but Cranleigh stood strong to earn the deserved win.
A dominant performance by Cranleigh and a bit more composure around the opponents area would of led to more goals.
