An away game at Cobham with the pitch adjacent to the Chelsea training ground. A good start by Cranleigh who had the first chance after 5 minutes with a volley from outside the area by Ethan Payne narrowly wide. Cobham soon came back at Cranleigh with Isaac Denton – Miller producing a fine save. With 15 minutes gone the ball fell to a Cobham midfield player unmarked on the edge of the box who hit the top corner for 1-0. Very disappointed with the marking leaving a player unmarked. Cranleigh had another effort 2 minutes later .
A ball was played down the wing and with the Cobham left back tracking back thinking he had lots of time , however Ethan Payne sprinted from the his own half
to put the left back under pressure . The Cobham player panicked and Ethan robbed him of the ball turned inside the centre half and rolled the ball to Alastair Hill in front of an open goal . Unfortunately Alastair held his head in his hands as he put the ball wide.
The agony of the miss was compounded  5 minutes later with a mix up in the Cranleigh defence letting in the Cobham forward for 2-0The half finished at 2-0 with both goals coming from Cranleigh mistakes after Cranleigh had been the better team .
Again the half started with a Cranleigh chance as Ethan battled to win the ball and crossed for Isaac Holt who shot just wide. Isaac  Denton – Miller  had been playing very well in goal and he produced probably the moment of the game with a triple save keeping us in the game.
From the resulting corner Cobham scored a third as the corner went directly in for 3-0.
At this point it was decided to push Jack westerman forward to try to salvage something.
Jack duly delivered as he ran onto a through  ball From Leo Lord  and scored . Despite the 3-1 scoreline there were some players who had given great performances including Dylan Bishop who has come on so much in the last 3-4 games showing real quality at full back.
A 3-1 loss which we didn’t deserve, in fact all 3 goals conceded were our own fault so lessons to be learnt.
Scorer – Jack Westerman
