Another Saturday and it seems another game against Cobham this time a cup game .
Cranleigh started very well with an early chance for Sullivan Howick .

After 10 minutes Sullivan lost his marker and bearing down on goal unleashed a great shot which the keeper could only parry to Toby Davis who coolly slotted home his first of the season . 1-0 .
Cranleigh continued to press the midfield with another great shot from Isaac Holt. Half way thought the first half and Cobham hadent had a shot on goal yet. Sullivan knocked the ball inside to Toby Davis whos neat flick found Leo Lord . With everyone screaming at Leo to shoot he unselfishly rolled the ball across to Jack Rogers who rifled it into the top corner . 2-0.

Through out the first half we had pressed and harassed the Cobham team never letting them settle .
The pressing game led to a chance for Alastair Hill playing his first ever game up front.
From a through ball Ally had no right to win against 3 defenders but he battled hard winning the ball and bringing a great save from their keeper. So 2-0 at half time . The first time this season we have led at the break .

The second half started much the sane despite Cobham trying to rally . Another early effort by Ally again produced a great save by the keeper . With 10 minutes gone in the second half a break down our left resulted in Cobhams first shot on target which was superbly saved by Isaac Denton – Miller. Unfortunately despite his great save in parrying the ball it fell at the feet of the Cobham striker 2-1
This goal visibly lifted the Cobham team and 10 minutes later a weak effort was misjudged by our keeper 2-2.

At this point Cranleigh had given their all and were starting to look second best .
With 1 minute to go Cobham scored a 3rd with a shot from outside the area which flew into the top corner. Cranleigh were out on their feet which showed as we didn’t have the energy left to close down the winning effort. So a 2-3 loss despite being 2-0 up at half time. A totally gutted team at the final whistle although as a coach I couldn’t of asked anymore of the team as they had played their heart out .

Best performance of the season and a first half of amazing football .
I have no doubt we will come back next week with the same attitude and desire and a win.
