An away match at Dorking and an absolute horror show in the first half.

After just 5 minutes a Dorking through ball was stabbed home with Jimmy Smith advancing out of his goal. Dorkings first corner 3 minutes later saw a bobbling ball turned in for 2-0.

Dorking controlled the midfield early on in the game and they soon scored a third. A fourth arrived with a Charlie Obrien own goal . At this point it was decided to change keepers with Jimmy Smith who actually hadent done anything wrong but was very shell shocked being replaced by Isaac Denton – Miller.

Isaacs first action was to face a penalty as the Dorking winger was felled by a sniper in the trees or so it seemed . With Isaac standing tall the penalty was driven over the bar . Justice done although the sniper is still at large. With the half time whistle and Cranleigh 4-0 down I did point out to the team that when I asked them not to be 3-0 down at half time this wasent an improvement. So yet again it led to harsh words and changes .

Cranleigh did however start brightly . Sullivan Howick broke down the right and smashed a diagonal ball into the top corner from 30 yards . This is the same Sullivan who last season needed 10 chances to score 1 .

A massive improvement in finishing and we hope his aim is improving . Again Cranleigh pushed forward and a great ball by Sullivan across goal was narrowly missed being turned home by 3 Cranleigh players being inches away.

Another great ball by Sully was clearly handled  in the area by a Dorking defender with his arm as far away from his body as he could get it. In fact his arm couldn’t of been further away from his body if he pulled it out of the socket and batted the ball away .

NO PENALTY!!!! .

Heads at this point went down and Dorking soon scored a fifth.

Final score 5 – 1

I do wonder if we had been given the penalty and scored how different it might have been. I was left wondering this fact as I shook the Dorking number 17 hand as he got in the driving seat of his car and drove away. Another much better improved second half but how I would love the team to play as they can from the start .
